About Us

The Arundel Festival is essentially an arts festival covering visual arts, music and drama. Since the first Arundel Festival over thirty years ago, it has retained both a community feel alongside large scale events at the Castle and around the town. 

Many events are free for visitors such as the Gallery Trail, bands in the square and the Big Weekends in Jubilee Gardens.

The Festival is the sum of many diverse parts, and to this extent the organisers collaborate with and co-ordinate the many organisations who put on their own events. Some of these have taken part for some time such as Drip Action with the Theatre Trail and Arundel Music, others are relatively new such as the Arundel Jailhouse. They all come together to produce the varied programme we enjoy each year.

In 2010 the Arundel Festival achieved charitable status. This was because of the many free elements in the programme, our policy to promote education and enjoyment of the arts.

The event would not be possible without our close relationship, going back many years, with both the Rotary Club of Arundel and the Lions Club (Barnham and Arundel). They provide invaluable assistance throughout the Festival, and we provide them with fundraising opportunities for their own causes, which often raises much more than the overall Festival budget each year.

Finally, the Festival is run by volunteers who give up their time to make this great event happen each year. They work closely with the Chamber of Commerce, Arundel Town Council and other sponsors without whom many of the free events just would not happen.
