DRAGON BOAT RACE

Back with a splash!

One of the Festival’s most-loved events, the Dragon Boat Race brings teams of rowers together for a thrilling day of racing on the River Arun. Whether you’re paddling for the community, charity, just for the glory or just eternal riverside bragging rights - the kind you'll bang on about like Uncle Albert in “the war”?  — it’s high-energy, hilarious, and not to be missed.

Think you have what it takes to paddle like a champion (or at least not capsize in front of the town)?

There are several teams who need your help, Arundel Community, Arundel Artists & Performers, Keep Me Breathing

plus more - which one floats your boat?

No experience needed,  Just a sense of humour, some team spirit, dry socks and possibly a towel

Row for a cause or just for fun — either way, you'll have a boatload of fun and so will the spectators at your expense.

Prizes for fastest team, best dressed, and most spectacular attempt at synchronised splashing

Want to take part? Join a crew or grab your friends and be a complete crew,

don your best fancy dress (optional, but encouraged),

and join the fun.
Spectators essential — cheering loudly is practically a sport of its own.

Drama performance is always a highlight at Arundel Festival of The Arts. Local theatre company, Drip Action, like to produce new, lesser known work that will entertain, be thought provoking, challenging and funny - often at the same time. Home productions are performed in their studio theatre at the Victoria Institute in Arundel and at midsummer in the atmospheric Chapel Barn in South Stoke.
